PLASMAR PROJECT DEVELOPS THE WORKSHOP “GOOD ENVIRONMENTAL STATUS & AQUACULTURE” IN THE IU-ECOAQUA.
On March 21, PLASMAR PROJECT held a workshop entitled “Good Environmental Status & Aquaculture”, coordinated by University Institute ECOAQUA (IU-ECOAQUA, Universidad Las Palmas de Gran Canaria) and Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation (ARDITI – Madeira).
The work session was developed at the IU-ECOAQUA facilities in the Marine Technological Science Park, Taliarte (Gran Canaria).
Together with experts belonging to the ULPGC Aquaculture Research Group, was delivered a detailed review of the Aquaculture interaction with marine environment.
For this purpose are used Good Environmental Status (GES) quality descriptors defined by the Marine Strategy Framework Directive 2008/56/EC and through related Commission Decision 2017/848/EU, which establishes the criteria and methodological standards applicable to the good environmental state for the marine waters.
The organization of a dynamic and participatory workshop facilitated enjoyable and fruitful collaboration.
