PLASMAR Project has published a protocol about sampling and processing plastic samples, with a size range of 0.01mm to 25mm, from sandy beaches.
This protocol is part of the results obtained in relation to the action 2.3.1. ‘Optimise and finding the pertinent monitoring methods for the marine and coastal waters environmental monitoring’.

The Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of the European Commission assisted by the European MSP Platform have organised a one day workshop which took place on the 11th of September 2018 at the University of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, ES.
The workshop provided participants with the opportunity to explore the development of MSP in the context of islands as well the challenges and opportunities that exist for sustainable Blue Growth.
Through the Plasmar & MarSP projects a communication entitled ‘Balancing maritime sector development and environmental planning, supporting socio-economic growth and ensuring environmental services’ was presented.

The past 26.08.18 at Montpellier (France) the ‘ARDITI/Centro de Maricultura da Calheta’ participated in the World Aquaculture Conference organized by WAS and EAS.
In the framework of the Activity 2.1.1 (Study ”Finding the balance of Blue Growth Sustainable Development within Ecosystem Approach”) an oral communication entitled ‘ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT UNDER MSFD FOR AQUACULTURE IN THE MACARONESIA’ was presented.
El Proyecto Plasmar, en el marco de las acciones de formación y divulgación, participa con una sesión formativa en el ‘ECOAQUA summer school 2018 (4th Edition)’, que tendrá lugar entre el 14 y 15 de septiembre en el Instituto de Investigación ECOAQUA en Taliarte (TM telde). La formación la imparte, el 13.09.18 a las 9h, el Dr. Andrej Abramic y se titula ‘PLASMAR and the Good Environmental Status Indicators System INDIMAR’ en el marco de la sesión ‘Current trends in Marine Spatial Planning in Island Systems’.
Dentro de la Actividad 2.3.1 del Proyecto PLASMAR (Métodos de monitorización marina necesarios para aplicar el enfoque por ecosistemas a la OEM), y en el ´International Meeting on Marine Research´ celebrado en Peniche (Portugal) los días 5 y 6 de Julio, se presentó la comunicación oral titulada ´Fishing effort standardization of data-poor fisheries: the Canarian small-scale fleet´.
